Juan Pablo Lepore is an Argentinian activist and filmmaker who was arrested and charged following the G20 summit that took place in June 2010 in Toronto. He was visiting Canada to work on a documentary when he was caught in the net of political repression, along with more than a thousand others. He was arrested in early September 2010, and detained for 22 days. Since that time, Juan Pablo has been captive in Canada, unable to return to his home and subjected to draconian bail conditions that prevent him from living life normally.
More then two years after his arrest (!), after countless administrative postponements and delaying tactics on the part of the Crown, Juan Pablo is now - perhaps - facing sentencing on November 27th. The Crown is seeking a sentence a minimum of eight months of imprisonment.

The Legal Support and Self-Defense Committee of the CLAC invites you to an evening of information and socializing. Join us for:
- An update on people criminalized in the wake of the Toronto G20 Summit;
- An update on the particular situation of Juan Pablo Lepore, one of the last remaining accused still facing pending proceedings or sentencing;
- A presentation of the work of the Legal Support and Self-Defense Committee of the CLAC;
- An overview of the legal situation of people criminalized during the student general strike and social crisis of 2012;
- A presentation of short documentaries co-directed by Juan Pablo Lepore as part of Documental Semillas and Las Otras Noticias. http://documentairesemences.blogspot.ca/
This event will be an opportunity to familiarize yourself with radical legal support work as well as providing your encouragement and support for Juan Pablo, who faces a harsh prison sentence after having lived under severe conditions of release for more than two years.
*If you can give any audio-visual material (cameras, tripods, etc.) so that Juan Pablo can bring it back to Argentina, any donation will be welcome.*
