Another world is possible... if we destroy capitalism!

Another world is possible... if we destroy capitalism!

Meet up at Place Pasteur, St-Denis street (between Ste-Catherine and Maisonneuve), on Thursday, August 11th, at 6PM!

Because, for the first time ever, the World Social Forum takes place in North America. This is an historic opportunity to see another side of modern capitalism: instead of seeing the poverty and exploitation of the Southern states, the attendees will be able to observe the wealth and decadence of the North. After all, the World Social Forum was created in the wake of the protest against the FTAA, the Free Trade Area of the Americas, a treaty whose objective was to subordinate South America to North America. Hence, "Quebec" is a financial hub for that capitalist octopus: more than 100,000 Montrealers work in the finance sector, in the offices of mining and oil companies, and within military industries. The hungry capital which enrich themself from its exploitation of South America, Africa and Asia, resides in downtown Montreal. It is essential to take opportunity of the forum to coordinate our struggles and to share our experiences, but it is also necessary to assault directly the ones who benefit from exploiting people and destroying ecosystems.

Who are these capitalists? They are the Canadian banks, who invested more than 120G$ in oil extraction, and are significant backers of tar sands exploitation. It is especially the RBC, the Royal Bank of Canada, the largest Canadian bank, which invested 132M$ in the manufacturing of cluster bombs, a weapon condemned by Canada and 106 other countries. It is Power Corporation, one of the largest financial institution in the world, which has ramifications up to Total, Lafarge and Engie/GDF-Suez. It is Talisman Energy, accused of financing genocide in South Soudan, before branching in shale oil fracking.

Let's attack this capitalist plague into its luxurious lair... and make another world possible!
